  9. Thanks to Bob, W5KNE; QRZ DX; Chod, VP2ML; and The DX Bulletin for
  10. the items in this week's bulletin.
  11.  
  12. UGANDA.  Jim, KF7E, has joined the 5X1XA/5X1XB DXpedition, although
  13. he has yet to receive his own call sign.  This operation is slated
  14. for April 27 through May 12.  Jim, 5X1B, has been on 20 meter CW
  15. recently.
  16.  
  17. ETHIOPIA.  ET3DX, by JH1AJT and DJ9ZB; and ET3TI by OH8MVT continue
  18. to be active.  Sid, ET3SID, shows up mainly on weekends with RTTY.
  19.  
  20. MADAGASCAR.  5R8DP operated by JA1OEM will be finishing up this
  21. weekend, though he hopes to work stateside on 80 meters before
  22. leaving.
  23.  
  24. SAINT CHRISTOPHER AND NEVIS ISLANDS.  Look for Jack, KB8WC; Bruce,
  25. N8LXS; and Scott, KO8O, to be active from April 29 through May 5.
  26. Although plans are for an all band effort, extra attention will be
  27. paid to 40 and 80 meter CW.

  29. BOSNIA/HERZEGOVINA.  4N4XX says that stations in Bosnia will begin
  30. using call signs with the prefix T9 sometime in May.
  31.  
  32. PACIFIC JOURNEY.  Jakob, HB9TL, will be touring the Pacific during
  33. May and June.  Here are some of the planned stops:

  35. Papua New Guinea, as P29TL, from from May 5 through 13,
  36. Solomon Islands from May 16 through 19,
  37. Vanuatu from May 21 through 26,
  38. Fiji, as 3D2TL, from May 27 through June 2,
  39. Wallis Island, as FW/HB9TL, from June 3 through 8,
  40. Tonga from June 10 through 13,
  41. Western Samoa from June 14 through 17, and
  42. American Samoa as KH8/HB9TL from June 18 through 20.

  44. THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  With big guns galore attending the
  45. Dayton Hamvention this weekend, competition on the bands may be a
  46. little less steep this weekend.
  47.  
  48. The Helvetia Contest, sponsored by the Swiss amateur society USKA,
  49. runs for 24 hours starting 1300z Saturday.  Look for both CW and
  50. phone activity on the non-WARC HF bands and 160 meters.  For more
  51. details, check out Contest Corral on page 106 of April QST.

  53. Sunday the 25th is International Marconi Day, in commemoration of
  54. Guglielmo Marconi's birthday in 1874.
